Using Emoji Reaction Voting on Facebook or LinkedIn? Then You are Probably Making this Mistake Too!
You may have seen someone use, used it yourself before or you might be thinking about using this kind of voting on your post, so, before you do that, here is why its a bad idea, and what you can do to do the Reaction vote thing, correctly.
The habit of zombie liking & its impact on your pole results.
Most people have trained their brains into becoming a zombie liker, a zombie liker is a person who scrolls social media and likes just everything or likes everything that is being liked already. Yes, even if your post says, choose the correct emoji to cast your vote, these people will simply like and scroll away!
Now, what will happen is, people like those, which are more than you can ever count, will simply like the post and scroll away and you will think, the option that you have put on like is the most popular one. in another words, you may ask them to vote for something and in return get completely lazy, like votes and that could give you a false winner, or influence your polling results.
If you were expecting that they will do the extra effort of first reading what your post is about, form an opinion, and then hold the like button to vote appropriately & that too on a phone! sorry to break this to you, you are wrong my friend! 😅 if it was pc user, who you would have asked to do this, they could have made the effort, because its easy to hover a mouse cursor then to hold and press tiny like buttons on a phone screen!
The Solution
Its quite simple, you simply keep the like button, Optionless! now you will clearly know, how many people actually cared enough to go through the effort of choosing the correct emoji to vote and how many simply were, like zombies!
Use Polls, The first choice is always to use poll option provided by both Facebook and LinkedIn. I know, the hype and popularity tells you to use the reaction format for voting but, you may sometimes have more options than you have reaction, so you will need to use the poll feature anyways!
But I am not saying zombie likes are not good, or they are always bad, they are actually really important for your post to become popular, because without likes, the algorithms will not pick it up & push it, so if your post ever get popular, you know who to thank, but its just this one place where they are harmful.
